SELECTION GUIDE

CF, CFast & CFexpress Socket Selection Guide

Three generations, one selection question

Storage-card sockets in industrial imaging span three interface generations: CompactFlash (CF) from the parallel-interface era, CFast with a serial interface in the same rugged card format, and CFexpress / XQD for current high-throughput cameras and recorders. The socket choice follows the card your system controller supports — all three families are in the KINGCONN catalog.

CF: the installed-base workhorse

Listed CF sockets are 50-position with 0.635mm and 1.27mm pitch versions and durability ratings to 10,000 cycles. CF remains everywhere in shipped industrial machines; if your original socket source has gone end-of-life, KINGCONN evaluates matches against existing tooling — send the drawing or part number.

CFast and CFexpress

Listed CFast models use 1.27mm pitch with an 8.35mm profile and the same 10,000-cycle durability class. CFexpress/XQD models use glass-fiber reinforced LCP housings with stainless (SUS304) shells for the higher mating precision the format demands.

Materials and compliance

Across the families: LCP housings rated UL94V-0, phosphor bronze contacts, stainless steel shells on listed models. RoHS compliant; every published value carries its source drawing number.
