Tact switch or DIP switch?
It depends on who operates it and how often: a button the user presses every day takes a tact switch (TACT), which springs back and has a long life; an option set at the factory or during service takes a DIP switch (DIP SWITCH), which stays where it is set; one switch selecting several positions takes a rotary switch. The KINGCONN Switch series lists all of these, stated in the part description.
How do I choose the height of a tact switch?
The height sets how far the button top sits above the board and whether it reaches through the panel opening: measure from the board surface to the outside of the panel, then choose a model slightly taller (this series includes heights such as 4.3). Heights and sizes (such as 6.2X6.2) are on each part description and drawing.
