SIM Card Connector Selection Guide

Which form factor: mini (2FF), micro (3FF) or nano (4FF)?

The SIM size is dictated by the card your device ships with. New compact designs use nano SIM (4FF) sockets; micro SIM (3FF) and mini SIM (2FF) remain specified in industrial modems, metering and telematics platforms with long product lives. KINGCONN keeps all three generations in the catalog, so a legacy form factor does not force a redesign.

Profile height

Listed nano SIM models run 1.25mm, 1.35mm and 1.37mm in profile; the micro SIM family lists 1.42mm and the mini SIM family 1.8mm. On a dense radio module the SIM socket often sits under an antenna or shield can, so check the height against your clearance first.

Contacts and durability

Mini SIM models are listed in 6 and 8 position versions and nano SIM in 7 positions (with card-detect options where the drawing lists them). Insertion-cycle durability of 5000 cycles appears across the listed families — ample for SIMs installed at provisioning and rarely touched afterwards.

Materials and compliance

Housings are LCP or high-temperature thermoplastic rated UL94V-0; contacts are copper alloy (including C5210 spring material). Parts are RoHS compliant, and every published value carries its source drawing number.
