SELECTION GUIDE

USB Type-C Connector Selection Guide

16-pin or 24-pin

The full Type-C receptacle is 24 positions; 16-pin variants drop the SuperSpeed pairs and serve charge-and-USB-2.0 designs at lower cost and simpler routing. The KINGCONN family publishes both 16-pin and 24-pin models — pick 24-pin only when the product actually carries high-speed lanes, and the layout gets simpler for free.

Durability class

Published ratings span 3,000 to 10,000 mating cycles. A charge port on a device that docks daily earns the 10,000-cycle class; an internal or service-only port can take the standard class.

Contact pitch and mount

Contact pitches in the family run 0.5mm / 0.7mm / 0.85mm depending on the model series. Mid-mount and top-mount options trade overall stack height against board-edge clearance — check the model drawing for the seating plane before fixing the enclosure.

Materials and verification

Copper-alloy contacts and stainless shells, RoHS compliant; every published value carries its source drawing number on the part page.

Shortlist and RFQ

All 11 models are on the Type-C series page. Model cards pre-fill an RFQ email, or write to service@kingconn.com.tw with pin count, cycle class and mount style.
